How to add an item to a Menu List

In this example, we show you how to add an item to any menu list.  A menu list is any of dozens of drop down/pop up lists that allow you to choose from among a variety of entries.  An example is the “Allergies” drop down menu.  In this example we show you how to add Morphine to the menu drop down list when you click in the Allergies field.  Other fields that utilize Menu lists include Immunizations, heights, Refills for meds, #’s of refills for meds, etc.  You can view and enter additions by clicking the Maintenance tab on the Main Navigation screen, then the “Menus” button.  From their they Menu items are alphabetical across the screen using the tabs to guide you to the right Menu item.

Bear in mind when the number of items in a menu list numbers in the hundreds (e.g. a list of physicians practicing in Tuscaloosa and surrounding counties), the menu items may be contained within a specific “database table”.  In that case, they do not show up in the menu items list.  Accessing them to make additions to the list is done by clicking on the appropriate button in the “Maintenance” tab on the Main Navigation Center (That’s where you land when you log in).  Examples include 1) Physicians, 2) Diagnoses, 3) Medications and 4) EM Codes.
